  1. Looks good so far, I like that you added more of a organic shape on the neck of the vacuum. But I would be careful about your light sources!

  2. I agree, I think adding the bend in the pole of the vacuum made it read more as snake. However, I think that doing some work on the vacuum head to make it look more like a snake would help even more. There is a shape already there (in the middle of the vacuum head) that looks like a snake, I think that lightening that up, adding the snake pattern and maybe some eyes would definitely add to the piece.
I love the setting you have created here and the work you have done with the snakeskin pattern! Looks great!

  3. I think there needs to be more of a connection between the environment and the object. The styles are very different. Since the vacuum is image traced, it's not related to the pen tool style of the background. I think you should draw the vacuum. If you draw it, you can control the lighting source so that the snake also matches the environment. That way, you have more ways to play with the hose shape so it reads more as a snake. The hose is still very rigid, unlike a snake. I do like the addition of the tongue. I think it might be cool to add the signature eyes of a snake on the head of vacuum, make them small though.

  4. I think adding more bend in the hose made it much more recognizable as a snake, but I think you could go even farther. The room looks really nice, just be careful you don't lose the hose in the floor. there's not a lot of contrast where they overlap. The tongue looks great though! I'm excited to see where you take this!

  5. I love the whole concept about this piece but I agree I feel like the background and the vacuum have extremely different and distinct styles that kind of clash together. I would suggest making the background look more realistic or making the vacuum look more cartoony so it won't look like you just pasted a random realistic looking vacuum-snake on there.

  6. I like seeing the progress from your initial ideas. There was definitely effort put into changing the vacuum to read as a snake. I was thinking, since most vacuums have changeable parts, maybe having the head of the vacuum detached and leaning against a wall. Then, the hose could be free to have the more flexible form of the snake. Though, adding the forked tongue definitely helps capture your idea.

  7. Seeing snake a lot more now, although I'd suggest making that straight part of the hose a bit curvier and more natural. I like the tongue coming out of the cleaner head, maybe you could add some fangs too just to make it look even more like a snake? Other than that, it's looking good!

  8. I think you should find another snake to vector up. Other than that I like the idea of what your doing. Maybe add a mouse running around?

  9. Put some eye on that sucker and it will look like a snake for sure. Im starting to see your concept and idea a lot better with the tongue hanging out of it. Its funny one little thing can help an idea that much better. Give it some eyes and that will help it a lot. Looks good

  10. I would change the snaketongue to a solid value, even simple black. Right now it kinda stands out, as the vacuum is made up from solid values.

I like your composition and think adding mouse/mice would liven up the piece and allow your eyes to wander more.

The left wall could use something to break up the monotony. Maybe a shelf, or a poster?

Overall, awesome piece, I really like how you placed the vacuum in the light of the window. It makes it a nice focal point.

  11. Haha! That's cool! Its funny that just the snake's tongue is sticking out, like his head is stuck in there somewhere. I like that you continued the snake body all the way through the hose, instead of having half and half. The addition of the mouse hole is cool, because it gives the snake a purpose. He's not just some outcast hybrid vacuum snake sitting in a room, he's there to catch the mice and keep the joint tidy!
    I like it a lot!

  12. Problems with the transition from one object to another. I think you are letting image trace dictate the final image too much. The hose seems transparent. The other pieces seem high contrast photoshop documents, not vectors. Did the vacuum cleaner eat a fish? Other than the original image making you do so, not sure the direction of the hose is helping the concept of a snake. For the transition, you probably will want to create a head of a snake to replace the vacuum.
